Electronics schematics are comparable to the 2D drawings for Mechanical Engineering. They visually explain how the electronic circuit is connected and which parts of which components connect to each other.
This doesn't say how to manufacture the circuit, that is the job of the PCB layout, but it does tell you how it will work. On complex circuits, these can be much easier to read and help our Electronics Engineers work together, communicate functions to the wider team and assist with testing and debugging.
