Now officially decommissioned, the baton is now officially owned by the people of Birmingham and will go on display at the Birmingham Thinktank Museum later in the year as a permanent record of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and of West Midlands Design and Manufacture which made the baton possible and Birmingham famous as the 'City of a Thousand Trades'.
